of the first steps I wanted to take was to terminate my secular work as software developer. As I was not a stranger to the demands of ministerial calling, I reasoned that I had to go the "Elisha way" - leaving all else to face the ministry squarely. But glory be to God who in His unfathomable knowledge spoke to me not to jettison my secular work (yet), but rather to pursue it as my "tentmaking" ministry, drawing on the example of Paul the apostle: "After these things, Paul departed from Athens and went to Corinth. And he found a certain Jew named Aquilla born in Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla (because Claudus had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome); and he came to them. So, because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and worked; for by occupation they were tentmakers." Acts 18: 1-3 The Lord told me I would not permanently do "tentmaking" and He would lead me to know when to stop. But for now, I should continue to engage in my secular occupation "night and day" so as not to be an unnecessary burden to my family and my hearers. By this means, I would also maintain my liberty to declare the full Gospel. As it was with Paul, "For you remember, brethren, our labour and toil; for labouring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God." 1 Thessalonians 2:9 and also, "Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who we with me." Acts 20:34
1 Investment in computer business Much financial support for my ministry has been from my engagement in secular business, specifically software development and computer training. It is therefore my pleasure to introduce to you, Compuworks Information Systems Ltd some of the products emanating from the company where I am Director, and invite you to freely purchase our products as you have need of. Part of the proceeds of your purchases will accrue to me personally - thus making it available for both private and ministry work.
blessed through them. However, I demand payment on a few of them for the purpose of recouping costs of publication / promotion as well as running of the ministry. This is especially in respect of hard copy books. (All soft copies from this site are made available as free eBooks)
Of course, tentmaking does not at all preclude my being supported by Christians who are so led by the Lord. The very nature of tentmaking makes it improbable for it to be the means of full financial sustenance of a ministry. This is because the associated ministry invariably and necessarily takes its share of available resources, thus reducing the competitive zeal of all tentmaking ventures. Therefore, there remains a great need for extra stream of income for the work of the ministry, which is expected to be via the freewill offering of the children of God (either personally or through organisations) As it is written, "Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock?...If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things?" 1 Corinthians 9:7, 11 |

| Hey! Jesus calls you, NOW! Have you ever accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? We were all born with the sinful nature of Adam which God cannot fellowship with. The Good News is that God therefore gave Jesus to us to redeem the situation. It is only by receiving this provision of God that you can have spiritual salvation and enjoy eternity in heaven with God. I implore you to allow Jesus into your life now. Yield yourself to Him. Stop the struggle and religious debates. While he who is spiritually saved will enter into the Kingdom of God (which is commonly seen as the Christian faith), this is not a call to the Christian “religion”, but a call to the salvation of your soul. For no religion can save – not even Christianity as a religion. So, being born into a Christian family or going to church or mosque, or trying to live a devout life will not save you. Whatever your religion, whatever moral standing you have, you must repent of your sins and personally receive Jesus into your life. So, now, Jesus is calling you one more time. What shall your response be? |
